About Me.

I was born and raised in Mexico City, where my parents were convinced early on that English would be an essential tool for my brother and me. They made significant efforts to place us in private schools with a strong focus on English-language education—an investment that would later shape both my career and my life. That foundation eventually led me to formal professional training in conference interpreting, followed by bilingual voiceover training.

However, it was after college, when life took me—almost by chance—to Edinburgh, that I became truly bilingual. Immersed in its cultural diversity, my appreciation for the English language deepened, as did my admiration for Spanish. That experience sparked a lasting curiosity for languages, and over the years I have studied French, Portuguese, Korean, Japanese, and Italian. I’m always eager for the next linguistic or personal adventure—these days, much of my free time is devoted to learning how to ride and care for horses, a pursuit that satisfies the same curiosity, discipline, and sense of discovery that first drew me to languages.

Since 2018, I have also managed TILCo, the company I founded to expand my ability to support clients at scale. Learn more about how we help organizations grow here.

My Background.

1999-2003

Bachelor’s degree in Conference Interpreting, ISIT (Mexico)

A four-year professional program combining solid theoretical foundations with intensive practical training. The curriculum included 10 hours per week over four years of hands-on practice in simultaneous interpreting laboratories, as well as systematic training in all major interpreting modes: simultaneous, consecutive, liaison, and sight translation.

In addition to interpreting practice, coursework covered advanced English and Spanish, linguistics, discourse analysis, writing, terminology management, and subjects such as history and international affairs, providing the cultural and analytical grounding required for high-level conference interpreting.

2008-present

Vocal training

(Mexico and US)

Since 2008, I have received continuous vocal training with leading voice professionals in Mexico through some of the country’s most renowned academies and talent agencies. This training spans from introductory dubbing courses to advanced, long-format programs covering the full vocal production process—from breath control and vocal technique to long-form narration, scriptwriting, demo production, and the technical and artistic aspects of professional recording, including work in a broadcast-ready home studio and theater-based training.

In parallel, I have pursued singing training since 1999, studying bel canto technique, regional Mexican music, and modern vocal approaches that leverage microanatomical movements in vocal production. This musical foundation has deeply influenced my work in the booth, informing vocal control, endurance, emotional nuance, and sound quality across spoken performance.
